About

Power is the platform.
True is how we work.

A small firm of senior specialists, built around one conviction: the systems organizations depend on most deserve better than a single overworked hire or a generalist MSP that won't touch AIX.

The name is the promise

60 years of combined AIX and IBM Power experience.

We have spent our careers on IBM Power, AIX, VIOS, and enterprise Linux — in the environments where these systems earn their keep: healthcare, finance, operations that run around the clock.

We named the firm for what we sell. Power is the platform and the reliability it stands for. True is the harder half: evidence-cited claims, honest service levels, named-account accountability, and saying "that's out of scope" or "we're not the right fit" when it's the truth.

That's also why this site reads the way it does. No exclamation marks, no inflated downtime statistics, and a citation under every number — because if we'll exaggerate to win your business, why would you trust us with your production systems?

What we believe
  • Continuity is the product. Technology changes; the promise that someone senior is watching doesn't.
  • Documentation is a deliverable. Knowledge that lives in one head is a liability — including ours.
  • Accountability is a feature. Named accounts and full audit trails are sold, never hidden.
  • Evidence over adjectives. Estimates get labeled. Claims get cited. Always.
The founder

Senior people, deliberately few.

John DeMaris, founder

PowerTrue was founded by John DeMaris, who has spent roughly thirty years in enterprise infrastructuretwo decades of it on IBM Power, AIX, and VIOS, with the enterprise storage and SAN fabrics beneath them — in demanding, regulated production.

He spent fifteen years at Nationwide Insurance supporting a large IBM Power environment, and supported the Power Cloud offering at LightEdge Solutions — delivering managed Power infrastructure from a provider, which is precisely the work PowerTrue does. Across those roles he has run many Power frames, VIOS servers, and LPARs at once, alongside their storage and SAN fabrics.

He previously held a U.S. Department of Defense Secret clearance, relevant for government and defense-adjacent engagements that call for cleared personnel.

He built PowerTrue around one conviction: the systems an organization depends on most deserve senior, accountable care — not a junior queue, and not a generalist provider that won't touch AIX.

The rest of the team is deliberately small and senior. Additional names and bios will appear here as they formalize — we publish what's real, when it's real.

Judge us by the work, not the website.
